На 28, понеденик, имахме кървава луна

Милиони астрономи и наблюдатели от цял свят очакват с нетърпение пълното лунно затъмнение. Луната ще ни предложи своя пореден живописен спектакъл в нощта на 27 срещу 28 септември.

Земният спътник ще блесне кърваво-червен на западния хоризонт около 5.30 ч. сутринта, информира Нова ТВ.

В този момент Луната ще е в своя перигей или с други думи – на възможно най-близко разстояние до нас по пътя си около Земята. Оттук ще я виждаме с около 15% по-голяма. Кървавият цвят идва от това, че космическото тяло ще се скрие от Слънцето в сянката на нашата планета.

Съвпадението на „Супер Луна“ и затъмнение се наблюдава изключително рядко.
От 1900 г. насам това се е случило едва пет пъти – през 1910 г., 1928 г., 1946 г., 1964 г. и 1982 г. Ако пропуснем зрелището сега, следващото такова ще е чак през 2033 г.

На 28 септември лунното затъмнение ще е пълно. Иначе през последните две години станахме свидетели на общо 4 „кървави“ Луни. Според някои тази последователност не е случайна и вещае апокалипсис.

Космическият спектакъл ще може да се наблюдава от източните части на Тихия океан, Атлантическия океан, Северна и Южна Америка, Европа, Африка и Западна Азия.

Sunday’s rare supermoon eclipse: What you need to know

Stargazers are in for a treat Sunday when a supermoon combines with a lunar eclipse for the first time since 1982.

The supermoon eclipse will last 1 hour and 11 minutes, and will be visible to North and South America, Europe, Africa, and parts of West Asia and the eastern Pacific, according to NASA. Weather permitting, the supermoon will be visible after nightfall, and the eclipse will cast it into shadow beginning at 8:11 p.m. ET. The total eclipse starts at 10:11 p.m. ET, peaking at 10:47 p.m. ET.

A rare phenomenon, there have only been five supermoon eclipses since 1900 (in 1910, 1928, 1946, 1964 and 1982). After Sunday, the next supermoon eclipse will occur in 2033.

A supermoon occurs when a new or full moon is at its closest to the Earth. "Because the orbit of the moon is not a perfect circle, the moon is sometimes closer to the Earth than at other times during its orbit," said Noah Petro, deputy project scientist for the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, in a statement. "When the moon is farthest away it’s known as apogee, and when it’s closest it’s known as perigee. On Sept. 27, we’re going to have a perigee full moon—the closest full moon of the year."

The space agency explains that, at perigee, the moon is about 31,000 miles closer to Earth than at apogee. This proximity makes the moon appear 14 percent larger and 30 percent brighter in the sky than an apogee full moon, hence the term "supermoon."

Sunday's eclipse, however, poses a challenge for the space agency's solar-powered Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO), which has been orbiting the moon for over 6 years. "LRO is not designed to operate during eclipses," Petro told FoxNews.com, noting that NASA has a plan in place for Sunday's eclipse. "We heat the spacecraft up because it gets very cold during the eclipse, we also turn off all the instruments except for one," he explained.

The sole LRO instrument that will remain operational is the spacecraft's Diviner, a radiometer that measures reflected energy off the surface of the moon.

"This is a long eclipse - we have been through one that was a bit longer than that, so we have that experience," said Petro.

With LRO in orbit behind the moon on Sunday, the spacecraft will be out of sunlight for a little over three hours. "That's essentially as long as we have been through before," said Petro. "Our primary objective is to keep the spacecraft safe - we're extremely confident."

Lunar eclipses have long been a source of fascination.

“Throughout human history, lunar eclipses have been viewed with awe and sometimes fear,” explained NASA, in a statement. “Today, we know that a total lunar eclipse happens when the full moon passes through the darkest part of Earth's shadow, the umbra.”

Зрелищно лунно затъмнение предстои през септември

На 28 септември предстои един истински небесен спектакъл - зрелищно, пълно лунно затъмнение, пише Мениджър NEWS.

За пръв път от 30 години насам затъмнението ще съвпадне със суперлуние - когато Луната се доближава максимално до Земята, обяснява британският в. "Дейли мейл", цитиран от БТА.

Луната на 28 септември ще е необичайно голяма и ярка, обагрена в червено. Затъмнение, съвпадащо със суперлуние, не е имало от 1982 г. Следващото такова съвпадение ще е през 2033 г., уточняват от НАСА.

Пълното лунно затъмнение ще се вижда от Северна и Южна Америка, Африка, Западна Азия, Източния Тихи океан и Европа.

Във видео, обясняващо явлението, специалист на НАСА казва: "Първо, имаме пълнолуние, добавете към него най-близката точка на Луната по елиптичната й орбита около Земята, заради което ще изглежда до 14 процента по-голяма в диаметър. Това е Супер Луна. Комбинирайте това със затъмнение, когато Луната минава зад Земята в сянката и получава червеникав оттенък."

При преминаването на Луната през перигея на нейната орбита, тя ще се доближи на минималното разстояние от 363 700 км до Земята. Супер Луна в перигей може да изглежда до 30 пъти по-ярка в сравнение с апогея - най-отдалечената точка на орбитата. "Това е специално явление, защото не се случва често", обясняват от НАСА. След 1900 г. е имало само пет затъмнения по време на суперлуние - през 1910 г., 1928 г., 1946 г., 1964 г. и 1982 г.

При лунно затъмнение Луната не изчезва от небето, но внезапно потъмнява и става червена заради пречупване на светлината в земната атмосфера. Затова и такава Луна често бива наричана "Кървава".

Красотата на умиращата звезда

Ако някой може да направи всеки цикъл от живота по-красив от предходния, то това е Космосът, пише Mental Floss.

Снимката, която виждате, е на ESO 370-1 – т.нар. мъглявина Южна Сова. Някога е била звезда. Днес се намира на 3600 светлинни години от нас в съзвездието Хитра. Има диаметър около 4 светлинни години.

Великолепният феномен е резултат от газове, изхвърлени в момент, когато звездата се е разширявала в края на живота си. Докато мехурът е ставал все по-голям, газовете са започнали да се разсейват. Горещото ядро пък е излъчвало ултравиолетова радиация, която от своя страна е йонизирала околната газ. Именно така са се получили тези сияещи нюанси.

Ядрото, което е останало след избледняване на мъглявината, ще продължава да гори един милиард години и след това ще се превърне в бяло джудже. След още няколко милиарда години ще се охлади.

Сегашното състояние на мъглявината ни показва това, което ще един ден ще се случи с нашето слънце. Много масивни звезди изживяват последните си дни като свръхнови. Изследователите смятат, че в момента в Млечния път има около 10 000 планетарни мъглявини в момента. Ние сме забелязали едва 1500.

Минералните извори на България – познатото непознато богатство

Природните минерални извори като тези в Сердика (днешна София), Пауталия (Кюстендил), Германея (Сапарева баня), Аугуста Траяна (Стара Загора), Медиус (Сандански) са били познати и използвани още от древните траки, населявали територията ни 2000 години пр.н.е. Множество археологически находки доказват, че на тази места е имало праисторически селища, където животът не е прекъсвал 6000 до 5000 години пр.н.е., през неолита, именно благодарение на наличието на минерална вода.

Хипократ първи е въвел възстановяването и лечението

с минерална вода. По време на първите древногръцки олимпийски игри тогавашните състезатели възстановявали телата си след тежките физически натоварвания именно в живителната течност. Те комбинирали лечебното действие на терпентиновото масло (с него мажели телата си, за да загреят мускулатурата преди състезание) с лечебната сила на минералната вода.

С появата си на Балканския полуостров през 1. век от н.е. римляните започнали усилено да строят бани в близост до естествените минерални извори. Издигнати били величествени сгради в чест на боговете лечители и покровители на лечебните води. Нарекли ги асклепиони по името на Асклепий – бог на медицината. Подовете им били покрити с изящни римски мозайки.

We’ve always been inspired by the countryside. the nothingness that is really everything. the wide open spaces. the rolling green pastures, bales of hay scattered through the fields, old men on tractors, cows grazing, and the big blue sky above. add in the texas sunset, and life is dang near perfect.

So, we decided to load the trailer with our latest and greatest farmhouse goods, our favorite chippy peely vintage furniture…some painted in our junk gypsy paint…and take a drive out to the country.

Lapidarium - Berlin

Condition and History

2015 is the 70th anniversary of the day of the liberation from the NS-dictatorship: A reason for commemoration to the victims and a reflection about our political and cultural present in Europe and in the world by dealing with separation, borders and migration.

In celebration of „May’45 – Spring in Berlin“ the Mexican artist Gustavo Aceves realises an art project with life-sized horses on the Pariser Platz in front of the Brandenburg Gate. His sculptures are directly located in oppostion to the Quadriga of the Brandenburg Gate. The Quadriga of the Brandenburg Gate symbolises the German history with its many facets: Almost completely destroyed its condition describes the end of the Second World War and marks withal the beginning of the division of the city, of Germany and Europe. Whereas its late reconstruction during the 1990s stands as a symbol for the reunification, the development of Germany, reconciliation and mutual understanding.

The sculptures bear evidence of their own journey in itself: Migration, asylum-seeking, immigration.

Skeletal Horses by Gustavo Aceves Installed at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin

On May 2, Gustavo Aceves's traveling exhibition "Lapidarium" comes to the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, to mark the 70th anniversary of the end of WWII in Europe.

The public sculpture exhibition examines the pertinent contemporary issue of migration. The Mexican artist has installed 22 monumental marble and bronze horse statues in front of the German capital's most recognizable landmark.

Each statue is fractured, cracked, and unfinished in appearance. Some appear skeletal and include human skulls within them, a reminder of the migrants that perished en route to their destination.

The title Lapidarium is derived from the Latin word for a place where archaeological items such as stone monuments or fragments are exhibited. Aceves thereby established an association between the fragmented artworks and our shared history and past.

After leaving Berlin on May 10, the exhibition will travel to further landmarks around the world between 2015 and 2017, evolving with each time it is exhibited.
